Tulips, Tidepooling, and Cabelas…

April marks the Tulip Festival in the Pacific Northwest. Annually, the boys and I load up and head to  Mt. Vernon, Washington where the Tulips are in bloom and ship nationwide {internationally if you count our Canadian neighbors to the north!}. Fields and fields of the beauties – Daffodils, Tulips, Hyacinths….ah….. All these images were taken at Roozengaarde Flower and Bulb – Mt. Planning for Squash…

My ever-gardening-creative-aunt sent me a link to Gardening with squash – on a trellis! This I had to see! I did do *something* like this last summer. I had some of my pumpkins planted too close to the six-foot privacy fence enclosing my backyard. I wanted to have more room for my plants to grow – to get more sun. I decided to use the … Continue reading Planning for Squash…

Palm Sunday, No ‘Possum

Blessed Palm Sunday to you and yes, the ‘possum didn’t return today. At least, not during the day…   Yesterday: ‘possum. Today: Palm Sunday. A week of praise ahead as we relive the Passion of Christ. We recite weekly in our church: Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again. As we begin Holy Week this Palm Sunday, with Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, … Continue reading Palm Sunday, No ‘Possum

Great Breaks: Vacation, February 2016

Great Breaks: Vacation, February 2016 Vacation looks good on me! If you were wondering why I had a break in posts last week, in a word: Vacation. I had posts lined up to finish on vacation, I did. I even set one up to auto-post on Wednesday {the 100 Word Wednesday post}, but apparently I expected the High Speed Internet to actually be accessible at our hotel. Although promised, the connection … Continue reading Great Breaks: Vacation, February 2016

100 Word Wednesday: The best laid plans

The best laid plans don’t always come to fruition. Careful, thoughtful, prepared the plans are. Then something happens, a bump in the road, a change in perspective, then these best laid plans are no longer applicable. They lay in the waste of your new reality, your change as you evolve. The planning was not for nothing. In the process of making these best laid plans, … Continue reading 100 Word Wednesday: The best laid plans

Taking a page from the Modern Mrs. Darcy, I’m all about rallying the troops through winter — although truth be told, I love this time of year! However, with a busy theatre rehearsal schedule and a still-not-yet-put-together-home-post-construction, there are quite a few things that are., in no particular order… Saving my life right now! 1. Rhythm from Inspiration!

I got the question a lot when we began homeschooling, and sadly now with our many activities our days aren’t filled with read-alouds, art, and creative play, but I wanted to have a visual rhythm to model our days. Enter: THE DAILY RHYTHM Drawing inspiration from fellow homeschooling mother, Rachel Wolf, I used her guide to creating a Routine for our homeschooling.     The … Continue reading Rhythm from Inspiration!

#EpicFailure is actually #EpicSuccess

My blog, and other computer-life activities, haven’t been working in sync with me. How I underestimated the power of hardware to ruin my computer-sanity.   You see, I am not a super-tech-savvy person. First, it’s not where my interest lies. Second, like a car, I want to just give it fuel and have it run with limited interference from me. Unfortunately, life is full of … Continue reading #EpicFailure is actually #EpicSuccess

{Ramblings On} Make Over

Right now it’s a mess and I’m exhausted so I won’t finish my post on Kamut. Instead I’ll show you pictures. Of… Continue reading {Ramblings On} Make Over
