Inktober 2020
Day 19: Dizzy
Back before the global pandemic, the quarantine, my husbands sledding accident 10 months ago {that’s kept us mostly-quarantined since early January 2020}, I used to meet at a local coffee shop and sketch with other artists. My sketches, like mine for Inktober, are rather crude, but the skilled sketchers folded me into their group anyway. They didn’t mind I was just testing out my pens and it gave me so much freedom to explore.
We’d go on music nights to a local cafe and I loved sketching the trumpet – so when I saw the prompt, I knew I wanted to give a nod to Dizzy Gillespie – and my crude trumpet is the best way I can give my sketching admiration to him
Progress, not perfection.
Ink it up.

Haven’t heard of the jazz great? Take a look {and listen!} here”

You are so kind! It’s a process; he’s still recovering, but we had to quarantine for the first couple of months to avoid his getting infections through his open wounds I was dressing several times a day 🙂 He’s just still recovering from the muscle and ligament damage. Thank you for reaching out 🙂
