Happy Earth Day!!
I’ll be planting trees and getting my garden in the ground today to celebrate.
I love the spring, a time to shake off the winter cold, a time for renewal. We celebrate it in our plants waking from their winter slumber and in our family, we celebrate it in the Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

My career, once upon a time, was as an Environmentalist. With a background in Environmental Studies and Biology, I was moved to action by Rachel Carsons’ book, ‘Silent Spring’.
PBS American Experience has a wonderful documentary on Rachel Carson if your looking for a quick and dirty recap on why we celebrate Earth Day today! {Truth: I watched it on Netflix, but it’s free to stream from the PBS website if you are not a Netflix subscriber}
I continue that education and tradition with my children. They are encouraged to think of the Earth and of the joys spring offers. It is a luxury we live in a country with so many people committed to making better choices for not only ourselves, but our children, and our world.
Quotes I love:
‘Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads’ – Henry David Thoreau
‘We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.’ – David Brower
