This Sidewalk

When I look down this sidewalk, I remember sunny days, skipping with friends, walking to and from school. I remember the warm tar in the street, squishing between my toes, which lay in the spaces between slabs of concrete.

Our house, the only one with real, live hunting dogs, snakes, and even once a rooster, was my refuge from hard days of play and family far flung.

When I look down this sidewalk today, I remember my heartbreak when we had to move away. I remember my very best friend, Kim, who died last year.

I remember life is precious.

  3. I have not enabled automatic pingbacks due to a plethora of spam messages attempting to link up. Do feel free to also continue posting your links and I will enable your pingbacks as I check my blog. Thank you for understanding!!
  4. I’ll provide a Weekly Summary, or Windup, of posts on or by Tuesday; take the opportunity to read and comment on your fellow bloggers posts {keeping in mind to give each other grace and space}. I’ll try to read them all, but I can’t post your submission in the Weekly Wind-Up if you haven’t posted before the end of the weekend but I’ll do my best to catch ’em all!
