Recursion – How Our {Eclectic Unschooly} Homeschool Works!

I’ve been rearranging our office/homeschool spaces/living room/dining room for 2018.

Yes. Still working on it, but I’m getting so close to being finished!

My son, the Bibliophile, drew this many years ago and it’s held a hallowed place on the cork board ever since.

Recursion occurs when a thing is defined in terms of itself or of its type. Recursion is used in a variety of disciplines ranging from linguistics to logic. The most common application of recursion is in mathematics and computer science, where a function being defined is applied within its own definition. While this apparently defines an infinite number of instances (function values), it is often done in such a way that no loop or infinite chain of references can occur. – Wikipedia, March 2018

Being a Biologist and Naturalist myself, and my husband being an engineer, we’re both mathematically and scientifically minded people. Though we’re Family First! sort of parents, we’re also very analytical by nature. We question, investigate, and problem solve.

So, how does this relate to our homeschool? We still question, investigate, and problem solve – but this knowledge starts first with our children and their interests.

Recursion is how our home{school} works: We fuel our boys interests, their interests drive them, we help them follow their interests! It’s a never-ending loop of mutual love, support, and trust on all our parts 📚💖
