Patience

As we walked to the pond, we were encouraged by all the activity. Mostly young teens, but also a few families like ours, gathered at the shore of this placid lake to drop a line and patiently wait for a bite.

Seeing children pull out fish every five minutes, we watched as our children baited hooks, deliberately cast their lines, and waited. The family in the distance pulled out another fish. The boys reeled in a bit. The family to our left with three fishing children reeled in seemingly one after another. A fish swim within yards of the shore.
