Week 8
Thanks for stopping by for Week 8 of 100 Word Wednesdays!
Seeing this image reminds me of my own hometown of Detroit, as well as through the south and Midwest. Older towns without younger generations behind them tend to wither and blow away. This image captured so much of that: Goody’s, Kodak, billboards, power lines. All reminders of a bygone era. I noticed, too, how the street is in good repair: fresh concrete and paint all but bypassing and ignoring the relics of the past. This image captures the moving on of society – the apparent neglect falling into obscurity.
At least there is still a stop light.
Our writers stories are brilliant this week — I attribute the wonderful image (Thank you again, Frank!) — Please take a few minutes to read and comment on your fellow writers work 🙂

Didn’t get in this week? No worries! I’ll be posting a new challenge every Wednesday 🙂
How to participate? A few guidelines as we begin….
- Simply check my feed, or search the reader, for the 100WW or tag #100WW, post each Wednesday. I’ll also be posting on my Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook Feeds.
- Write your submission on your blog, Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook Feed and ping back to the weekly blog post. Feel free to use the image provided or your own. Please do credit the artist whose image we use – Links provided!
- I’ll provide a Weekly Summary, or Windup, of posts on or by Tuesday; take the opportunity to read and comment on your fellow bloggers posts {keeping in mind to give each other grace and space}. I’ll try to read them all, but I can’t post your submission in the Weekly Wind-Up if you haven’t posted before the end of the weekend but I’ll do my best to catch ’em all!
- Have fun! I enjoy reading your challenge submissions 🙂
Thanks much for the mention.
