The Eye
My view is narrowly being shut out by those imperial walls around me. While I grasp in frustration to the shreds of my own humanity, realization dawns like the rising sun.

My time dwindles.
From the moment I took my first breath, my dying had begun. As I rise to the challenge of fighting the darkness encroaching round me, clouding slivers of azure sky become obscured.
Shrouded in iron rod, bathed in concrete walls, prisons, I sink deeper into despair. Recognition for my efforts thwarted, focus must remain on those still able to see the embers of the new day.

100 Word Wednesday – Week 3 Challenge
How to participate? A few guidelines as we begin….
- Simply check my feed, or search the reader, for the 100WW or tag #100WW, post each Wednesday. I’ll also be posting on my Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook Feeds.
- Write your submission on your blog, Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook Feed and ping back to the weekly blog post. Feel free to use the image provided or your own. Please do credit the artist whose image we use – Links provided!
- I’ll provide a Weekly Summary, or Windup, of posts on or by Tuesday; take the opportunity to read and comment on your fellow bloggers posts {keeping in mind to give each other grace and space}. I’ll try to read them all, but I can’t post your submission in the Weekly Windup if you haven’t posted before the end of the weekend but I’ll do my best to catch ’em all!
- Have fun! I enjoy reading your challenge submissions 🙂
“From the moment I took my first breath, my dying had begun.” <– I adored the whole post, but that sentence nearly took my breath away. Great job! 🙂
I must admit, when I saw your title, my jaw almost hit the floor. An eye?! I seriously studied the photo wondering, "Is it really an eye?!" I can see it in the image now. XD That is a wonderful interpretation of the photo, I love it! 🙂 I always look forward to seeing your take on these. ♥

i liked that line too – From the moment I took my first breath, my dying had begun – giving me a sense of purpose to do my best everyday and not waste the life I have been given.

Well said — life is too precious to not keep moving towards goals and purpose 🙂
