November 1-30.
NaNoWriMo – National Novel Writing Month – every November, we write!
Every year we gear up for it. We print our booklets, we dream about the stories we want to write, then November 1 – we get started!
This is a challenge really of all ages. If you can communicate, you can participate! When my children were younger, I’d simply type the stories they created, print them out, they added art, and viola — authors! We didn’t worry too much about mechanics, it was more about getting the words and stories out of the mind and onto the screen. I’ve also written some for them out by hand.
It’s gratifying to see your words, thoughts, and dreams in a story. A story of your own making and creation! I’ve even taught writing classes based on the NaNoWriMo process.
This year, we’re making new goals, accepting new challenges, and stretching ourselves as we write our own stories. Dream our own dreams.
We’d love to hear what you’re into –
I did it once back when it was still new and had yet to become a thing. I wrote a novel from start to finish. It was hard and the results terrible but I did it and that was something and very satisfying.

I know what you mean! It’s the editing that gets me every year — but I’m determined, and have been making the physical and mental space, to edit after this years NaNoWriMo to publish!! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
