I agree! Otherwise you have no time to do anything that you need to do for yourself and there are just some personal tasks that can’t be put off forever.

Or as the author said, you outgrow obligations — or they don’t work for your family — but you continue to do the work, albeit begrudgingly. I’ve so done this in the past and work hard now to avoid at all costs. I still slip into the mode of obligation, but when I do it empowers me to not allow it to happen again 🙂 Part of allowing ourselves to make mistakes even as we continue to move in a more positive direction.
