Rocky Shore {Friday Fictioneers}

Though it may be difficult to return, you’re waiting for me. Strong. True.

Though waves of indecision wash over me, you stop me in my tracks – your offer of grace and forgiveness as I find my footing. For the harsh word, the last word, no word.

You’ve been my mentor, my Rocky Shore, from whence I came and will return. We won’t always agree, we won’t always clash, we won’t always have the time together as time fades fast.

I return to your side.

  1. Really pretty piece. The alliteration at the end makes it sound so poetic. I like how this relationship is enduring and realistic. Bad times and good times happen and the speaker is wise enough to know they won’t be able to be together on earth forever.
