This challenge is hosted by Sonya – @ Only 100 Words – The idea? 3 lines about the picture, no matter how long or short, but only three lines!

Letters
Writing daily since our last night together. Aching inside, I eagerly await your letter.
Longing listlessly for you. I know deep down it’s been too long. My love unrequited.
Opening the box, I instead receive a letter of your happy engagement.
I linked up — why not take a whirl, it could be fun for you too!
From Sonya, Week 16 Three Line Tales, Guidelines:
“Check the TLT page for the full guidelines, but here’s the gist:
- Write three lines inspired by the photo prompt.
- Link back to this post.
- Tag your post with 3LineTales (so we can find you in the Reader).
- Read and comment on other TLT participants’ lines.
- Have fun.
Happy three-lining!”
Nicely done 😀

Oh NO! Not only unrequited–but now he’s engaged, arrgghhh!
Hey, I really like your header image–a hula hoop, WOW!

Thanks! I made the hoop and was hooping pretty regularly prior to my cancer surgeries last year. My scars are still pretty sensitive and are aggravated by hooping, but I do love it! Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you 😉 I should post the instructions, of which I originally got online as well — so many fun things to blog about, so little time to write and capture images 😉

Heya, there is pain in those lines.
May I join our 3 lines here – with a few new conjoining lines?
I have been,
Unaware of his feeling,
And, I hear:
“I (Horse-rider) wish to race to him,
To express your sweet misty emotion,
But, your fearful heart disapproves, clutches me.”
I, somehow, let go my heart for once,
And, going beyond that fear,
I have been,
Writing daily since our last night together. Aching inside, I eagerly await your letter.
Longing listlessly for you. I know deep down it’s been too long. My love unrequited.
Opening the box, I instead receive a letter of your happy engagement.
Now, I have been,
Aware of his feeling,
And, I hear:
“I (Horse-rider) wish to race to him,
To express your sweet misty emotion,
But, your fearful heart disapproves, clutches me.”

I like how you joined the lines over at https://patriciasplace.me/2016/05/19/the-letter/#comment-21846 as well — Thanks for the Pingback and posting here 🙂 I love this creative writing community 😉

Hey, I am glad you liked the amalgamation. I think I should post it on Sonya’s post as well. Could find some more who could enjoy the piece. I will see you around at TLT weekly and otherwise, reading your posts as well. Cheers.

Oh, what a shock at the end. That’s a terrible letter to arrive after all her waiting. I guess he wasn’t what he said or seemed.

Or what she’d hoped he’d be…sometimes the writing is on the wall, but we don’t want to see it past our own blind will. Thanks for stopping by 😉

Sorry, I did this too, also without your permission:

You deserved it for the tale would be incomplete without your piece. 😉

How painful! Hopefully things will be alright. It’s hard to move on from a lost love especially unrequited ones. Nice tale!

Thank you {and I totally agree – only time has a hope of healing those kinds of wounds} 🙂

I’m happy it’s eliciting the response I was going for – but that sounds bad, right? 😉 Thank you for stopping by!

Now that is jacked (up). Great three lines.
And I’m envious, BikurgurI. I’ve never been able to hula hoop!

Happy to have a smile {with the hoop} and a surprise with the lines 😉 Hooping is much easier when you have the correct size to start. A beginning hoop should be about nipple height – pretty big compared to drug store hoops. I like mine with some weight to start as well — you’ll definitely get bruised, but it’s super fun. I used to hoop while I read. It’s like anything else: practice, practice, practice. When it becomes like second nature, it’s nothing to walk and hoop, dance and hoop, jump and hoop…..of course, the tricks can be super fun too 😉 I should totally write a Hooping Post or two — you’d be amazed how fun it is 😉

“Such a sad tale. But then he’s not a great catch if he mails her his engagement announcement assuming he realized how she felt about him. Maybe the next guy will be better,” she sighed.
“You packed a lot of emotion in your 3 lines,” she said. “Your comment thread is pretty cool, too.”
