Home
It has been too long since I have returned. I didn’t mean to be gone so long, but the days are long – even if the years are short.
I know you wait. Patiently. Longingly. As I go about my days, weeks, months, and years – you stand there, nearly unchanging, for my return. I long for you too. The feeling of home, your loving embrace. You think I don’t miss you, but I do more than you’ll ever know.
It doesn’t matter how far I have been from this place, when I walk under the loving arms of this tree, the mill, beside the house…I know I am home.

This is lovely. Knowing there is a place to call home, no matter how long we’ve been away and how far we’ve gone – a wonderful feeling.

All the memories and emotions that come with what we call home, you’ve depicted all that so wonderfully in your story.

Beautifully written and heart felt. This piece brims with emotion. It is wonderful to have a place if home to go back to but sometimes I think we should go back alittlr more because people are our home and they only stay as long as their time allows.
