Goodbye {FFfAW-Week of 02-16-2016}
TJ Paris, Thank you for the image use for this challenge!
As I walked along the path so many travelers had walked before, I had no hesitation. I began that morning, early, gathering my few belongings and heading out to the unknown. The time I spent planning these steps had been years in the making, but once I decided, took only days to implement.
I took pictures of, and sold, the few material things I had of value I wasn’t taking with me and gifted the rest. My cellular phone, laptop, square reader, tools, few outfits, identification, and access to cash — that’s all I needed. I want to see the world, to be unencumbered by things, overwhelmed with experiences. Friends, family, neighbors; people don’t understand my drive to wander, my desire to live simply with no regrets.
I have a plan to write my experiences. I’ll document them, I’ll post them, I’ll share them. These experiences, these feet will take me to the places and lives I want to know. My first experience is this path taking me to the world. As I turn, I capture one last look.

This is my first week participating in the Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers weekly challenge, Challenge 56 — go to blog for details and to link up, but here are the guidelines:
Guide for Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers
1. A prompt photo will be provided each Tuesday to be used as a base to your story. Please include photo prompt with your story.
2. Linking for this challenge begins on Tuesday and runs to the following Monday evening.
3. Please credit photo to photographer
4. The story word limit is 100 – 150 words (+ – 25 words). Please try and stay within this limit.
5. Pingback to the challenge post in your story’s post.
6. This is a flash fiction challenge (stories in 100-175 words or less) and each story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end. Therefore, no serial (continuation) stories. They become too complicated for our readers.
7. Add your story to the InLinkz Link-up (Blue Froggy button). If you need link-up instructions, please email me at mepricelessjoy@gmail.com.
8. Please keep your stories no higher than PG 13 rating.
9. Remember, half the fun is reading and commenting on each other’s stories.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I have not received any compensation for writing this post. I have no material connection to the brands, products, or services that I have mentioned. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”
Oh, I love this! She is off to see the world! I love how she spent years planning but only a few days to implement. How exciting it must be for her. I love how you ended the story with one last look back. Wonderful story! Welcome to the Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers Challenge! I’m happy that you have participated!

“A wonderous idea; to travel with only a few possessions. I hope she is happy in her travels!” she said.
