FLASH FICTION FOR THE PURPOSEFUL PRACTITIONER: WEEK #7 – 2016

Puppy Love
From the day I brought you home, you’ve been a lot of work. The crying at night, the endless walks outside, the shoe you chewed, the socks you carried off; the work is endless. I had no idea that bringing home such a warm, fuzzy, adorable puppy would be so labor intensive.
But, little by little, I’ve worked around your schedule. I’ve learned to pick up after myself, I’m learning to keep a schedule, I’m learning how to take care of you. I didn’t realize when I got you that you’d teach me so much. You’re more than just a companion, a warm snuggler, you are filling a void I didn’t realize I had: to care for someone else and more.
I never knew love until I saw you. Your big, brown eyes, your cold wet nose, your little puppy kisses. Who knew a creature so full of playful fun, sharp teeth, and poop in the house could so steal my heart. I want to scold and be cross, but to be honest, looking into those eyes, I melt. Yes; let’s ditch work and go outside to play.

Nice, I enjoyed reading it.
I have written three pieces of flash fiction, I find the more I do it the better I’m getting at it.
Looking forward to reading more of your flash fiction stories..
