In honor of the late, great Alan Rickman, we played our **Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone Trivia board game this evening {he was so delicious as Severus Snape, but had many, many other fantastic roles}.

This one is pretty expensive via, but maybe you’ll luck out and find it second-hand like we did!

Always fun, reminds us it’s been a while since we’ve read it, and we enjoy collecting charms, casting spells, and even the curses aren’t all bad! With my bibliophile son having read the Harry Potter series thrice, he’s usually the hands-down winner. However, we all enjoy learning the little nuggets of knowledge about the books, the characters, and reflecting on our shared enjoyment of the story {and movie!}.

We found this board game at a local thrift shop. At $3, it was a bargain!

The game was only missing the instructions, which we easily found on-line. Set-up is simple. Choose your color of hat, everyone draws a card blind from the house pile to see which house they will be in. Tonight, we were all in different houses — the Spells and Curses cards can have an impact on the house you are in, and as they are all drawn blind, it makes the game a little more fun!

The object of the game is to collect 6 unique Spell cards and return to your house and answer a final question to win the game! We had so much fun playing — and there are other Harry Potter Trivia Games.

Game play is about 45 minutes for 4 players, from set-up to tear-down. It’s difficult not to read all the questions on the card and verify your answers, but I have a feeling that we may do that at some point just for fun!

**I highly recommend the newHarry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone: The Illustrated Edition (Harry Potter, Book 1)” target=”_blank”> Illustrated Harry Potter Book!**
