I love the idea of one a day, or a couple a week, but the necessity to post on a regular basis the evolution of your practice, of your work, of who you are and what you are becoming. It’s important, the practice. It’s the way we get better, do more, sculpt and mold ourselves as we sculpt and mold our work.
It’s important. You are important. Do it for you.
In 2015, many of you set your own daily or weekly goals. We asked four bloggers — a sketcher, poet, short story writer, and essayist — how they stayed motivated and inspired this year.

I originally was going to post three times a week. But then I had a discussion with someone. This person said that she had been reading this blogging and loved her posts. Then the blogger started posting daily. This person said she just gave up reading the blog because it was overwhelming. At that, I went to twice a week. Later I hesitated going to three times a week but eventually I did. The Friday post is a post with a video from Youtube of a creative person I admire. Finally this year I started posting a fourth time a week. The fourth one is a movie review, calling attention to older films that I enjoyed. With each step, I have tested the water to see if my followers would stick to me. At least to build a following, I believe it is more important to be consistent with your posting. Pick a date and a time. Then offer good content. If you do those two things, your followers will come.

If I could get someone to fund my dream trip of traveling the world for a year, I would be happy to post once a week or more. But until Daddy Warbucks shows up I’m a little limited on content to blog about as a travel blogger.
