Just Finished: Writing Down the Bones, By Natalie Goldberg

I just finished Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg.

Wow.

She is funny. She is insightful. She is saying all the things I need to hear as a budding writer, yet many that I know and didn’t articulate. I found the more I read this book, the easier I could communicate with my writers on their goals, their work. I found more confidence in creating Margin to create the time to write.

What she says is, just keep writing. She wrote all the time. Her goal? Fill notebooks. Fill a spiral notebook every month. She has great tips on writing topics (write them on pages in the back, then just go!) and what to do when you don’t know what to write (just write…or not!).

I’m thankful that I dove in and read it — I’ve asked *Santa* for a copy to write in the Margins!

Do you find you are running around being busy instead of reflecting during this season of Advent? Are you creating time for peace, stillness, reflection, gratitude — Margin?
